1993年浜田さえ子氏主宰アトリエ「ナーチェ・ナーチェ」でインド舞踊を習う。
1996年ラトナ・ロイ氏【The Evergreen State Collegeの教授として、インドの文化・歴史・神話、古典舞踊を紹介すると共に、現在インドでは学ぶ事が難しいマハリスタイル(奉納舞)を伝承する舞踊家として北アメリカ・カナダ・インドにて活躍中】と出会い強く魅了され,1997年渡米。
1997年ラトナ・ロイ氏主宰「Urvasi Dance Company」所属。氏の紹介により、チョーポラ・ミシュラ氏（オディッシャ州在住オリッシーダンサー）と出会い、アメリカ・インドにて研鑚を積む。1999年8月シアトルにてRanga Pravesh（ソロビュー公演） を行う。同年10月大阪でも初のソロ公演を開く。
2000年10月渡印。ORISSA DANCE ACADEMYにてPadmashree Guru Gangadhar Pradhanに師事。師の指導のもとSmt.Rojalin Mohapatra,Sri Lingaraj Swainより現在もどんどん発展していくオリッシーを学ぶ。以後毎年短期留学を繰り返し更に研鑚を積む。
2002年ORISSA DANCE AKADEMIオリッシー課程修了証(DIPLOMA)NRUTYA PRABHAを取得。オディッシャ各地方の他にアッサム、ハイダラバード、バンガロールなどインド各地の祭事に多数出演する。
2008年9月ODISSIの本場オディッシャ州の州都ブバネシュワールにてインド国内外で活躍する優秀な若手ダンサーの祭典3rd Devdasi National Dance Festivalに招聘され出演。好評を得る。同年9月オディッシャ州カタクにて開催された世界の演劇と踊りの祭典に出演、著名な卓越したダンサーとしてInternational Nrutya Bhushan Awardを受賞。
更に2015年10月、Odissiに人生をかけ長きにわたりOdissiの普及活動を続けていることに対し敬意を表して、INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL The IIDF-Sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Award 2015 を受賞、あなたはOdissiの誇りであると称賛される。
2002年 4月神戸新聞文化センター（KCC）にて講師を始め、2005年7月大阪でも教室を開講。2015年4月からは、インドのことを総合的に学べるカルチャースクールOdissi Dance Centre ODCを設立。現在インド・日本の各地にて公演活動を行うと共に後進の育成、ODCの学校運営、インドからダンサーを招聘・公演企画をするなど幅広い活動を続けている。
Sachiko Murakami, the organizer of Odissi Dance Group ”Padminii Kulam”, is the leader of Odissi Live Music Group ”Sharanagati”, and also the founder of Indian classical dance and Indian culture school Odissi Dance Centre ODC in Osaka Japan.
She is well trained in classical ballet for nine years since the age of six. She had also studied Jazz dance, Modern dance and Balinese classical dance.
She began study of classical Odissi dance under Ms.Saeko Hamada,a student of Ms.Madhavi Mudgal.
She has been trained in the rare Mahari style by US based eminent dancer Dr.Ratna Roy, the closest disciple of Padmashree Late Guru Pankaj Charan Das.
In October 2000, she had a training of Odissi from Orissa Dance Academy from learned teachers like Shrimati Rojalin Mohapatra and Sri Lingaraj Swain under the guidance of internationally famous Padmashree Late Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. She is continuing to hone her skills in this dance form.
She had performed in several cities and festivals in Japan, as also in many places in Odisha, Assam and Hydrabad and Bangaluru
She had organized dance and music programmes and workshops, and also organized the tours of Japan for Shri Rahul Acharya Japan tour in 2014-2015 and for Shrimati Rojalin Mohapatra Japan tour in 2015-2016
In August 2002, she passed examination for diploma of Nrutya Prabha in Odissi Dance from Orissa Dance Academy.
She had dedicated her life to Odissi.She had never visualised a bright and successful future with fame. The joy and happiness that she received from her audience, made her to give back the same joy and happiness through her dance. Dance to her is a prayer. It gives her the power to live, she affirms.
